We're delighted to bring the Limited Edition WeeRide to the Australian market.
The ultimate in child comfort and safety! All the features of the WeeRide carrier, but with the added bonus of thick seat and back padding as well as a padded shoulder harness. Also exclusive to the LTD is the deluxe safety harness with oversized buckle system. You get the same improved passenger carrying position of our Center Mount seat with more child interaction and safer weight distribution. But we’ve taken it to a sofa level! The WeeRide LTD is not only the most plush carrier we make, it’s the most comfortable bicycle child carrier made.
This is a hugely significant difference between a WeeRide and rear-mounted seats.
Because the child falls asleep between your arms, on the balance of the bike you can continue riding safely - not usually the case with a rear-mounted seat.
This means you can go for day trips and not worry about the journey home when the little one will be asleep within 5 mins!
(bear with 15 secs of black at the start of this video - it's worth it *honest*)
It’s never too soon to start riding a bike. The Weeride Push Bike is the ideal training bicycle for toddlers to pre-schoolers. Without relying on training wheels, the Weeride Push Bike teaches the little rider balance and co-ordination, making the transition to a ‘big kid’s’ bike much easier. And unlike most other pedal-less training bikes, the Weeride has a brake, making it much safer to learn on.
At first your little one will ride with at least one foot firmly on the ground. As confidence develops they will begin to lift both feet. They will learn to propel themselves forward and get the hang of turning. Before you know it, they will be balancing which is key to riding a bike. This is the best way to teach a child to ride. Training wheels prevent kids from developing a proper sense of balance, so when those training wheels finally come off, the child is often terrified and unable to balance the bike, resulting in many accidents. A pedal-less training bike avoids such stress and injury.
The Weeride Push Bike has some other great features. It has handlebar brakes so your child can learn correct braking skills from an early age. The large wheels make it easier to ride on uneven surfaces and unlike some competitors, the seat height is adjustable so your child will be able to use it as they grow.
The Weeride Push Bike comes in three favourite kids colours; red, yellow and blue.
It is available from www.weeride.com.au and costs $189.95 plus delivery (at that price even Santa can afford to buy them!).
Research suggests that kids who exercise from an early age grow up to be healthier. Give your child a headstart with the Weeride Push Bike.
We occasionally get parents keen to buy a WeeRide, who look at the maximum weight guidelines (18 Kilos), look at their child and think the seat will be too small or they'll out-grow it too quickly - they're wrong!
Firstly, it's important to remember that for babies, the first year of life is a time when they grow very rapidly. On average, a 3.2kg baby will end its first year at around 10kg, more than triple its birth weight. Growth slows down in the second year with, on average, two to three kilos added each year until the next major growth 'spurt' at puberty
So when can you start using a WeeRide, and when will your child out-grow it?
The short answer is that in Australia there is no law that specifies a minimum age, although the law requires that child must wear a helmet. That said - common sense would suggest it's around the age of 1 - since that is when a baby's neck is strong enough to hold a helmet. Of course all childern are different, we started riding with our daughter when she was about 10 months old, following advice from our GP..
